My current drawing assignment involves making three versions of one character, with only the hair color changing between the finished images. The character wears a blue shirt against a muted background, and I want each version to remain readable at a small size. I have started with brown, copper, and silver as distinct options, hoping their differences will make the comparison easier to discuss. For background vocabulary, I saved a link from my reading about a personal color test as a starting point for further reading. Those ideas may give me useful words, but a fictional drawing can deliberately exaggerate a contrast that everyday styling would soften. The issue is deciding whether the hair supports the face or distracts from it, especially when the picture is reduced in size. What sequence would you suggest for a side by side review, a value check, and a short critique from other students? A clear set of comparison questions would help my classmates explain their choices in terms of the character rather than personal taste alone. |
