single bet calculator
So — have been messing about with this thing for maybe six months now and I keep coming back, reckon I'd chuck my thoughts in since someone asked me the other day. I'm UK based, generally stick to footie and the horses, a fiver here and there, so take it how you like.
What got me on it was actually a bit daft — I could never get my head round what an each way return would be when the place terms changed. Basically I'd guess and moan when the payout landed. These days I stick my stake in before I place anything, even a simple single bet.
The single bet calculator tool is the bit I'm on daily — you drop in the price and your stake and you get profit and total return instantly, fractional or decimal, doesn't matter. There's also the fiddly ones — doubles and trebles maths, lucky 15 and lucky 63, patents and yankees, and that's where most people I know mess it up. The thing that really changed how I bet is the nerdier bits. They've got an implied probability converter and it makes obvious how much the bookie's taking, and there's the kelly tool — I run quarter kelly as the full version is terrifying. Dutching calculator is decent if I'm covering two or three runners.
It's not perfect mind. The layout looks a bit basic — zero frills, looks like it was built by someone who cares more about maths than colours. On mobile it works though the acca grid are a squeeze. And no proper app, it's a website and that's it — fine by me but worth saying.
So yeah. Costs nowt, not plastered in adverts, does what it says. Anyone who honestly works out returns on a calculator app, have a look — saves me a load of "wait, that's it?" moments. |
